Prologue: In The Beginning

In all of literature come three well-known sentences apropos to the underpinning of this eFile. As a writer I take the liberty to paraphrase as that is what we do.

In the beginning the writer created the stories and the characters. And the story was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the story. And the pen of the writer moved upon the face of the medium, and there was illumination.

The intent within these posts is to explore the creation of one of my novels under creation as of this date. Unlike academicians who attempt to phantom the mind of the author and decipher his or her meanings and intents through some sort of half-baked clairvoyance, this is to explore the mechanics of how a story comes together, and what happens as it moves to publication.

This is a blog, and as such is a gateway to the exchange of ideas and opinions which will hopefully evolve. The things expressed herein are what I have learned and am learning about the creation of a story. Readers are invited and encouraged to share their thoughts so that we can continue to develop our craft together.
